I bought some items and one was very significantly not as described. I can return it but before I do, this Masonic orb , or what’s left of it, was also in the lot but I’m struggling to estimate what it’s worth for scrap as it’s so damaged .
It’s 9ct on the outside and silver inside. No hallmarks as the outer case had broken off.
Any ideas as to how to value it or as it’s silver in the centre it’s not worth the hassle and I just return it.
I know we don’t do values on here but any opinions would be welcomed!
    Thankyou.

An intact one sold on eBay for £102 so do you think it’s £30-£40? Just thinking out loud here

I think that's wise unless you got it dirt cheap.

Just to keep me happy could you please check worthpoint. I don't have an account but the maker (JHW John Henry Wynn) seems like an awesome find to me. Of course this is just my opinion and I am often wrong.

You are right ulilwitch, it is an awesome find but sadly it’s so damaged that I’m not sure it’s scrap value will cover what it owes me and it’s intrinsic value is probably rather low as it’s missing parts. I’d love one of these in good order and think I’d rather send this back and put the money towards one in good condition. Unless I can cut a deal with them which may be possible.

Not cheap enough as the other item said to be gold isn’t.
