  3. Its roughly 7 inches tall by 5 inches wide or so. Its not very large, about the size of a small ipad. Albeit a bit thicker. I was thinking maybe a japanese deity of some sort as well as i know there are many in japanese myth an legend.

It is Varaha, an avatar (the real thing) of Hindu God Vishnu. He is credited with retrieving the earth after it was stolen by a demon, as seen in this picture:

There are different ways of portraying Varaha, including with armour, here as a boar:

  7. Wow thanks so much for the responses! Your knowledge is very informative. Also, It has holes through the top, 2 of them spaced about an inch apart...maybe to attach to something or hang?

Any thoughts on the age or value? I have a second picture of the back also on the link.

We'd have to know what it is first.
Do you think it could be a tea brick? They are made in molds, of pressed tea leaves, and pretty weighty. Here are some pictures, anything like yours?

The age is difficult, some are antique, some are new, and they all just look like pressed tea to the untrained eye.
I don't think we have a tea brick appraiser in our midst, and we don't do values here. But now that you know what it could be, you can google them. The value will always be more than you paid for it. Good luck!
