I have a white s.j. pottery cream pitcher or pitcher?
Is this hand painted? I think s.j. pottery is out of
Bethel, MO and may have shut their doors in 2007.
    Dimensions are about 2 5/8" top dia. x 3 7/8" tall.
I would like to request some help either cream pitcher
or pitcher and whether this is hand painted? Thank you
    for the information. Rob

I can't help you with the pitcher, but when ceramic is only glazed, it is not considered painted, even if the glaze is applied by hand.

Ceramic is a more general term for objects made from clay and fired. Pottery is the term for ceramics made for (household) use, although it is often used for other objects as well.

The main difference between ceramic and pottery is that pottery uses clay as the main ingredient while ceramics does not essentially use clay as a main ingredient.

Pottery involves making pots and other items from clay hardening them by heat. Ceramic involves makings things from inorganic, non-metal materials that are permanently changed when they’re heated. Pottery is a part of ceramic as clay is a ceramic material. But, not all ceramics are pottery.
