I found this 1 inch diameter locket at an Estate sale. It has an embossed image of what looks Egyptian, like Cleopatra, that is inverted on the inside. The stamp/mark inside is S. & B. L. Co. I looked it up - S & B Lederer Company founded in Providence, RI in 1878. The mark remained on their listings until 1931. There are no other marks. I can't interpret the monogram yet. Has anyone seen anything like this and know more about it? Thanks!

King Tuts tomb was discovered in 1922. For years after that the Us saw Egyptian influence on just about everything. If you look at a cemetery you see obelisk tomb stones . The older ones will be from around 1922. My guess is locket will be from 1922 or later.

I agree, it is Art Nouveau imo. Egyptian-themed jewellery is a returning thing, especially since Napoleon's expedition to Egypt ca 1800.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

That monogram -- wow. Can see why you haven't deciphered it yet.
