Featured Ruby ring: Victorian, Edwardian, Deco?

My friend has another ring in question.
It was sold to her as Art Deco, but we think it could be Victorian, or a bit later.
It is 18kt with a platinum head.
The stone has an inclusion, so possibly genuine ruby. The diamonds are old cuts.
Any ideas on age would be appreciated!

 

Ct as opposed to K......for gold content.....points to.....

That ruby is gorgeous. Im no jewelry expert but I do think 1900 give or take a decade.

 

I believe in the UK and some other places, carat is used for both gold and gem weight.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

I would place this as 1910-25, the 18ct and Platinum combination is rarely seen before the Edwardian period. Also although the design isn't at all Art Deco many items were made at that period that did not take the Deco form so it can be Deco period, but not Deco style. It looks like a very nice example and if the ruby is natural that is a great bonus. Lab-grown stones were around at this time, but the quality of the piece would likely suggest a natural stone. It's a great find as it looks in good shape too.

 

It’s almost unknown to get the diamond carat weight on a ring, ct is generally gold purity. We still use carat as a term for both stone weight and gold purity.
Given the old cut stones, I’d say Edwardian. Lovely thing.
