I recently inherited a set of six Royal Worcester cups and saucers. The maker's mark suggests the set was produced in 1886, with "X" on the mark indicating the year 1886.

I am interested in identifying the pattern but have been unable to do so, having looked a number of commercial firm's which deal in replacements.

If anyone could identify or point me to additional resources, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance! 20170402_130420.jpg 20170402_130504.jpg 20170402_122432.jpg

Can't help you, I'm afraid. Most RW wares don't have pattern names from this era. But I suspect that you might be able to find more items in this pattern and with a set of 6 cups and saucers, you've got a good beginning to a nice little antique tea set.

They look more like coffee than tea cups (narrower at the top, tea cups were traditionally wider to get the bouquet) - you don't give a size, but are they possibly after dinner coffee cups (commonly called demitasse these days)?

I'd say coffee cup too. And indeed, no pattern names.
