I just picked this up on a whim but second guessing my purchase decision. The couple stands a little over 14 inches tall and is marked with 380 and 37, aside from the Royal Dux mark.

My concern stems from the fact that I cannot find another one like it and while it appears to be hand painted, it is not identified as such.

    What do I have here?

It looks consistent with Royal Dux production to me. The company has been around over 150 years and has produced thousands of shapes. I wouldn't worry too much about finding an exact duplicate. These older couples figurines seem to be especially popular - although personally I prefer their animal figurines. Below is a link that should take you to a Royal Dux page that may help you date the figurine and/or reassure you your piece is genuine.

Thanks Don. Not seeing a link on your post. The "E" would appear to date the poece prior to WW I and I assumed the 380 to correspond to a production number and the 37 to an artist. I a,m not finding info to support this assumption though. Is this correct?

I paid $90 for the piece + shipping. Was this a fair price?

My apologies. I think my short term memory is shot. I had the link copied but forgot to paste! If the piece is undamaged you got a really good deal. Value can fluctuate tremendously though. There's a couple figurine on etsy that wants over $1200 for a couple in the same bisque finish as yours. It is a larger piece though. I don't sell Royal Dux so I'm not sure if $1200+ is realistic. I suspect half that is more likely. I can say that if your figurine came up for auction locally I would have bid to at least $200 for it. Again, though, it's not really my taste. It's best to check sold listings on ebay to get a read of the current market. Here's the link I forgot.
