Another thing my mothers side of the family liked to collect was plates.

A google search was no help trying to find the name of this pattern. Does anyone know?

Plates are 10 1/4 inches, btw.

Any ideas on the pattern at all? Anyone?

Many Royal Doulton sets did not have formal pattern names. The numbers on the bottom may be the pattern number. Unfortunately, they are upside down and I can't read them. But if you plug them into a google search it may bring up more pieces. I searched "Royal Doulton gold encrusted" on Replacements but didn't turn this pattern up.

Yeah, I don't know why the pictures end up being upside down sometimes.

    Trying again.

Are you talking about the numbers at the top now?

    I think they read:
    RA.8614.
    H.366.

EDIT: I found a website with Royal Doulton marks and it looks like the date codes, based on the RA and H numbers, point to 1917 for the year. How do I determine the pattern though?

As Don said many early patterns didn't have names.
In this case it was decorated by Robert Allen Studios
    RA8614 is the pattern

    From the link you provided
"Robert Allen and artists in his studio were often allocated RA-numbers for their hand-painted wares designed and decorated by them. . . .

Robert Allen handpainted wares were never produced in large quantities and many were never repeated."
