ROUND ANTIQUE PAPER CLIP??

    What is this thing?? Found it at a storage unit the owner was emptying to close acct = selling everything cheap!

    The only thing I can think of is a round paper clip/holder? Any idea what the images are on it?
    Finally; any age to it? This isn't a tourist souvenir from Greece is it?

    It is, from the island of Crete. And I guess it could be to hold papers, why not.

    It has the Greek words for Crete, and Nike (symbolic of victory), but I've got no guess as to age or purpose. Maybe the ancient Greeks used it to close their potato chip bags?

    We had another one of these, souvenir of some other part of Greece, a while back. Yes, for holding papers together on a desk.
