Found this at a yard sale yesterday and for 2 bucks couldn't pass it up, There is no writing or marks on it anywhere other than on the underside of the snap is " STOCKO " On searching I found a couple that were attributed to Northern Africa during the War. Any additional knowledge would be welcome!
The press stud to keep the parts together would seem to date it to the 1930s or later. I'd have paid a lot more for that for my swordstick collection.
Thanks all but I think it will go into my collection for now I just can't decide whether to put it with the riding crops or the military knifes
Seriously now, whatever you do don’t advertise it or show it, in many places the item is considered a concealed or illegal weapon, kind of like a switchblade knife or sword cane. If you keep it out of sight at home it is unlikely you’d ever get in any trouble.
If I decide to sell it there wont be a problem advertising it or selling it, There is nothing Illegal about its possession as long as (here in Florida not so much in some of the communist northern states) you have a ccw license (concealed weapon) which covers any "weapon" while carrying. As far as display in home hows this for display. (my last partial inventory all kept in safe!) No law says you can't display in home though whether you have license or not after all it is your HOME!.
OOOOOOOOOOH.......that NASTY!!!! What looked like an innocent riding crop....turns out......ain't!!! OR....just a handy kabob skewer!
