Restored and unsigned River Painting

    As you can see, this painting was cleaned and varnished in 1970. When I purchased it years ago, it was advertised as a hudson river school painting but I have my doubts. I have closely examined the painting outside the frame and no hints. Any thoughts on age, region, artist??

    Love the painting but the mountains in the distance don't look right, too perfectly shaped .. other than that, very nice .. Joy.
