Resize possible?

Just wanted to see if anyone knows this antique ring would be able to be resized? It’s 18k gold

Would you be sizing up or down, and by how much?

 

Looks like it can be done, if not too much. But best ask you local jeweller's, they are the ones who have to do it.

 

Ops sorry should have specified. I would say 3-4 sizes down. Read that tension set rings don’t usually get resized hence wanted to ask if it was possible

Usually the recommendation of limit is 2 sizes. You might inquire if they can fit the band with sizing beads or adjuster.

It'd be a few bandaids in this case! I have leather cord wrapped around an antique men's ring I wear and it's not small!

 

A girl in my high school painted the tape she wrapped around her boyfriend's class ring with pink nail polish.

 

My grandmother wrapped wool around big rings and also painted it with nail polish to secure it.

 

Makes me wonder how people so far removed from each other back then came up with similar ideas without Pinterest.

 

We used to wrap a guy's class ring with Angora yarn & then brushed it with a toothbrush to make it fluffy. Also, if you were really cool the yarn always matched your outfit.
