    LOL! ..... I am not a particular fan of Renoir but wouldn't go so far as to say his painting suck. I do think there are better but who can deny the appeal of this......

    I love Renoir,but even I have to admit his later works strike me as "meh" more often than not.

    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    That is one of my favorite paintings. I think it is funny how trends come and go regarding what is considered to be "good art." As if there was such a thing as good or bad art. I don't really believe in those concepts, although have laughed at some of the paintings in the Museum of Bad Art (MOBA). Societal tastes in art do change, and Renoir is apparently out of favor with taste makers right now. To me that is all it is.

    If he is out of favor now how come the prices have not dropped? I would like to be able to purchase one of his for a grand.:jawdrop:

    I hold that Renoir did not, does not, and will never suck, due if only to his celebration of females with CURVES.

    Can't say I'm overly fond of a lot of the abstract art out there at the moment. but Louis and Pollack both would make great quilt fabric. Renoir was never one of my personal favorites either however.
