Religious thing or not

I tested this for sterling silver, it is no markings though. Also the base has a magnet so not sure if was made like this or someone put magnet it, anyone know this thing ?

I agree with the posts below.

 

Back when cars where all metal and very little plastic, Catholic drivers sometimes put little "protective" items (depicting appropriate saints?) on the dashboard. Perhaps this is one?

St. Christopher, he protects travellers.
The story is that he carried people across a river, a bit like a human ferry. One day Christ appeared as he was as a child, and asked to be taken across. While Christopher was crossing the river the child kept getting heavier, until he was almost too heavy to carry. When Christopher asked the child why he was so heavy, he replied that he himself carried the suffering of the world on his shoulders.

By the way, Christopher is no longer recognized as a saint by the Catholic church, since there is no proof he ever existed. Doesn't matter to many Catholics though. Besides, every religion needs its legends.
