Regular hanging mirror?

    I bought this out of a friend's estate sale this weekend. It's hung in his bathroom 13 years.
    He said he never could figure out what it came off of. There are no holes in the sides for a swivel mount and no holes in the back where it was mounted to anything prior.

    It's 53" tall and 35" wide.

    Was it always just a hanging mirror?
    Seems a pretty odd size if so..

    Oak-framed hallway mirror (NOT a pier mirror) ca. 1910 with a beveled mirror. Looks to be displayed upside-down.

    A close-up of the bevel on the glass might tell if it's hand done or machine.
