Picked this up at an estate sale. Stands 5 1/2" tall. has dimples on the side. The base look amberina-ish. I looked thru a crackle glass book and some similar are Blenko. What do I have?

I don't believe it is Blenko. The glass looks to thick and the dimples too small with obvious tool marks. All the examples I've seen of Blenko dimple tumblers have more rounded larger dimples.

Someone told me (I think here) that the red doesn't show up until the glass is heated. It might be a delicate balance heating the glass to a point where the whole thing turns red without the sides slumping. The yellow around the foot, where the glass is most thick, might simply not have reached the necessary temperature.

Well I guess it can go in my own yard sale.

Red glass is refired or struck to turn yellow to red so this item was not full struck The refiring/striking tends to melt the surface a little. I am thinking that cadium is the current element that is used. I would not want to bet on that element however.

For some reason the crackle glass did not register. That literally is a process where the shallow cracks are mad in the glass and then sealed by refiring. Both purposes could have been done with one refiring.
