Featured Recent bead purchases

I've excluded some apparently modern piece, and assuming these are all qualified for vintage, which theoretically is at least 50 years old. But I'm new to this field, let me know if you think any of them are newer!

 

Didn't you show us the pretty Art Deco ones before, shammie?
The white ones look like shell beads.
The faux banded onyx ones are still my favourites.

 

Yes two of them were posted before, the rest three are fresh new finds

I think the white one is mother of pearl

And I agree, real banded onyx beads of that size will go for hundreds but this one only cost me 25 pounds, and they look just authentic from a distance and it has an organic energy in style

 

And very Art Deco.

So yeah, I don't really understand the banded onyx prices...have these always been so expensive?

 

They are really sought after in my country ( China), but it has to be perfect clear white line in a perfect solid black bead, and size also matters

 

I love the gumball beads. If they were produced when Amercian one were, they're vintage for sure. 1960s if I'm not mistaken.

 

gumball lol it was sold to me as Czech but it’s different from other harlequin glass necklaces(for example the one below, but the colors are same). Either way, it’s very sweet

 

It probably is Czech. I like yours better, with beads all the same size.

 

I think they don’t make graduated beads for harlequin necklaces so probably just prospective problem. But I did prefer mine without the brass end between beads

 

The brass corrodes. You're better off without it.

 

I like those the best, too.
