Picked up this old razor strop and trying to figure who made it. The best I can see is the block letters above the symbol is O G Thomas Co but the symbol looks like COT. Also perhaps the letters under the symbol starts DESMO??? I've tried searching but not coming up with anything. Any suggestions?

Well I sort of figured that was a possibility but nothing comes up on a search of those so hoping someone had seen a like item.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

There was a G. G. Thomas Co. located in Des Moines and Ottumwa, Iowa who made shaving-related items. I'm not sure why their logo would look like that, and I didn't find the logo anywhere else. I did find the following links:

    Worthpoint listing for a razor:
    https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/straight-razor-knife-gg-thomas-431418056

Old advertisement for Thomas' shaving balm for the company in Ottumwa:
    https://books.google.com/books?id=Y...Q#v=onepage&q="g. g. thomas co." iowa&f=false

Publication that reports on results of testing for methyl alcohol in products of a bunch of companies. G. G. Thomas co. of Des Moines is listed:
    https://books.google.com/books?id=3...Q#v=onepage&q="g. g. thomas co." iowa&f=false

One of the razors in this current listing is from the company:

Thanks for the info Figtree3, that's one of the things confusing me (not that it takes a lot to do anymore) was the logo vs the wording above it. The wording could be GG Thomas Co but why is the logo COT? Perhaps a mystery that will remain so.

    Maybe it reads T Co.

The lower case or at least smaller o to complete the Co abbreviation for Company is not at all uncommon in older company logos.

I was thinking that, but the C being so large was throwing me off. Maybe it was an artistic decision. I does look nice that way, with the C and O dominating.
