Hi everyone! I would appreciate any opinions reg this bowl/vase that I found recently.
I guess it's modern, raku style, probably copper glazed (not sure). I wonder if it's a studio pottery, or just a mass market, though it doesn't have any mark/sign on it.

Welcome Nastina! I'm afraid your pictures are too small for us to help much. The site limit on image size is 1MB to there is plenty of "room" for you to post larger ones than these. And when you do, please choose the "Full Image" option.

I'm no expert, so I could be wrong, but I don't see raku here.

I agree. And that rusty item surrounding it, isn't "glaze" if that was what you meant.

It is interesting that the surface of the ceramic part is so very reflective! Where did you find it? Were you told anything about it?

I found it at the flea market few moths ago for such a good price, that I didn't even think about whether to buy it or not. Since this bowl was in a box with some kitchenware and it was not looking like seller had any idea of why it was even there, I wasn't bothering him with any more questions:shame:. The only reason I assumed that it could be raku, because I couldn't find any more similar combination of the "clear" ceramic surface with this kind of shiny/reflective overlay. I'm not sure if it's seen on the pictures, but all the inner sides of the bowl are covered with reflective overlay too.

I wonder if it's a tea lite holder, meant to be used in the position of the last photo.

    That was my impression, too.

I think, theoretically, it could be used as a tea lite holder, however initially I thought that it is some kind of the bowl vase for flower installations on kenzan, or flower frog.
