What are these plates used for? Both have 2 little wells. Measure 11" across.

Thanks Aquitaine. I have a book but didn't show this plate. Also the mark is not exact in my book. Maybe early 1900's?

Oh those are nice. This is the precursor to those tv dinners who had partitions for the main course, potatoes, veggies and if you were lucky a brownie in the middle top part. Man those were good.:p

The old TV dinners were actually worth eating, once upon a time. I've seen this physical design made for use on passenger ships too. Kept the food on your plate instead of on the floor and kept the sauce on the meat out of the veggies.

Tell me about it Ruth. I loved the Swanson Fried Chicken with mashed taters and the dessert. I never touched the vegetables. And the turkey in gravy was always my second choice.

Fire King Jadite Grill plates are harder to find now and last look they sold at a nice price.

Not oysters, those have multiple indents round the edge. It's something that needs salt dips.

I would use them for oysters, fried squid or eel, and soy sauce + hot mustard. To each his own.......
