Here's the box that held it all. Is this apt to be leather?

Here's what the underside of the lid looks like.

Okay. Lots of looks, no replies, but I've decided to go with "not leather."

New question. When I look at Completeds, "vintage mens jewelry box," what come are mostly little hinged boxes for one item, or a pair or set. Are there any KWs that would help to indicate this is to hold a collection of jewelry?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Maybe "jewelry case"? But I think box and case are both correct.

Try "men's vintage leather dresser box", and I haven't answered about the leather, but am wondering if it is that leather that cut so thin as to hardly be there?

It may be "bonded leather" which is made from leather scraps shredded and bonded with a polyurethane mixture. - cheers

Thank you for that. Interesting. And would it be thin in that case?

    from wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonded_leather
"Bonded leather can be found in furniture, bookbinding, and various fashion accessories. Products that are most commonly constructed with different varieties of bonded leather are: books, diaries, Bibles, art books, desk accessories, bags, belts, chairs, and sofas.

A more fragile paper-backed bonded leather is used to cover books and desk accessories. These bonded leathers may contain a smaller proportion of leather than used in the furniture industry, and have some leather exposed in the product's surface, hence there may be an actual leather smell." (their highlighting)

different weights for different applications - cheers
