Most Atkins Bros. pieces have a catalog number along with their mark. I read that Atkins Bros. Silver Catalog numbers below 5191 would date the piece before 1900. I couldn't find any references to back that statement up. Do any of you know if this is true?

Is this where you read that information?

Scroll down to the next to last post - by the late lamented Pat. :( I would have a tendency to accept his opinion or information. Note that his statement is not absolute, but he also mentions a secondary indicator. AND this appears to only apply to silverplated wares.
