Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Biscuit Barrel

Discussion in 'Pottery, Glass, and Porcelain' started by KarensVinteriors, Nov 5, 2019.

  1. Hi,

I have just picked up this commemorative biscuit barrel for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. The mark on the bottom is for William Wood & Co and I assume that it was made in 1897 the year of her jubilee. As anyone else come across one like it?

    That's very nice.
Also check the silver rim for any marks of the silver maker. Probably silver plate, but you want to make sure.

    Welcome to the board

  5. Thanks. The only marks are on the lid - EPNSS which I think is silver plated in Sheffield.

It's silver plated, but the second S doesn't mean Sheffield neccessarily.

S could be a shape number or pattern, or some kind of reference mark. Photo please?

Two hundred dollars is a tad ambitious.

  12. Thank you Figtree3.

There are no further marks on the bottom.

You've managed to find one really close to it in looks. I hadn't found that one. The dimensions are the same. Mine doesn't have the registered number on it but one thing that I have just spotted is that the pattern number on mine in red appears to be B 1711 that is one number before the pattern number you found.
