I' E58561F5-2025-420B-AAEF-D1F9C46DA7FE.jpg m sorting through my mother’s house. She has a collection of green Wedgwood but then there are these! They’re about a foot high, the colour is slightly more vibrant than Jasper and they are white inside. I have no idea where they came from. They may be cheap copies but they are very delicate and well made. Does anyone know about them please?

A German firm, Schafer and Vater made jasperware style items, technically they were porcelain rather than jasper but looked similar. A number of other European factories including Sevres also made jasper ware look-a-likes.

Those definitely look the same. Mine have no lids but it does look as if there is a channel where a lid might sit. So it seems no one actually worked out what they were, just that they weren't Minton? I don't see any marks on them...
I'm pleased I didn't start off thinking they were worth a fortune only to be disappointed! More than anything I was wondering where she got them from. A fair amount of the things she has were inherited from her grandmother who loved big house auctions in the early 1920s/1930s so I imagine they may be from there.

From what I understand, all Wedgewood is marked (likely some exception exists, but that's the rule in general). Your's very likely is Schafer and Vater as Ce BCA noted. Picture of the underside would help.

Take the e out, please. ;)

Yes, almost all is marked. Other British companies did sprigged wares, Dudson, for example. Those do look pate sur pate.

I don't think these are sprigged.

That's from this detail from that other thread:

If you're ever in Waco, TX, Baylor has one of the largest collections of wedgewood in the country. Located in the Barrett-Armstrong Browning library. Free to the public, but call ahead for hours .
