Is this legit, or ...? I found it today in a charity thrift and the guy's moustache was too good to pass it by. My little photo software program let me reverse the image and flip it so we can easily read it. It's pretty funny - funny enough to make me wonder if it's real.

That is a "real" treasure...so detailed.
But you will have to show the sides/bottom and measurements, etc., to tell if it's that "real".

Is this a linoleum print block? Does it have a wood backing?

If it's metal, I would guess zinc and from a linotype machine.

Come to think, I may have too. I have a hunch this isn't an old image as in 19th century. It might be something out of the 60s or even later if someone got creative.

There's even a rubber stamp of the image on this UK site - it's the one the steampunker used to make the lantern.

It may be an invention of the people at Artistic Stamper. It's certainly used there a lot.

thanks, not surprising, it looks rather new to me, perhaps circa 2000s? The zinc plate looks so very "clean". I think the process of etching has probably changed with the times and this is a newer, cleaner result. It's very cool looking!

It's certainly possible. I'll get it listed pretty soon. Someone's going to want it.
