I'd guess it's Indian, and not as old as you imagine.

I'd guess Anglo-Indian. It looks to be based on a common western 1890s parlor table form. Looks homemade or possibly a "project." If it originated in India, then I would have next to no idea on the type of wood. Deal?

The screws made me question the age that’s why I wanted to ask here. I would have never guessed Anglo-Indian. I was thinking Black Forest and European

    Wow, thank you everyone.

    I vote Anglo-Indian & flat-head screws go way back.

What do you think the oldest the table could be?

The form was popular in the 1890s, so I suspect an Indian carver got hold of some books on Western furniture and made his own spin on them. It could be newer than that too if the design was popular and he kept making them.

Agree with the others as to Indian origin. I don't think it is too new but sometime the first half of the 20th century. Likely, pre-WWII. 19th century carving is, generally, better than this. Wood could be sheesham.

Oh my. Not horribly practical but it would be great for a lamp, with those cutouts where a cord could go.
