No lid, but...~3 1/2" deep, ~7" wide; it weighs ~26 oz.
Yes, I've destroyed the 'patina' by my exterior cleaning. All indicators are that it has been fully hand-made; the handle is tapered in thickness, an' looks to have been cold-rolled.
The mark in pic 4 is the only thing that may ID the maker, but there's not much of it to work with. The interior is heavily tinned, an' seems to be all there. The copper is seamed beneath the handle rivets, an' around the bottom insert; none of that shows inside.

Does anything about its appearance suggest a place of origin, or era of its craft? It's destined for eBay, so I'd like to be as informative an' accurate as possible in my listing. As always, Thanks for lookin'!

That mark on the handle looks to ME, like part of a shield lying on it's side with part of a crown inside it at the top..........

Agreed, but it's so muted as to be cryptic...'tho the crown might be a strong clue.

funny about the copper things one amasses over time.....

I have several copper items I've picked up over the years, and a few from my folks , and an old pierced ladle from Israel given to me by my fathers brother when I was a teen....... strange gift....and I ended up not liking him...but for some unknown reason....still have the ladle ...:confused:

We be acquisitive accumulators...else we wouldn't spend as much time here as we do. Stuff...sticks to us, an' when y'git as old as I am, it becomes somewhat of a burden; an' a lesson, tho' a bit late if y'get my drift.

The difficulty with a lot of this cookware has been made the same way in places like India for hundreds of years so pinning down a date is difficult
