I really like this necklace and would like to identify the maker if possible. There are no marks at all. Does anyone recognize this? Would it be correct to describe the decor to be 'jelly bellies'? It is about 15 1/2" end to end. I'm not sure whether the stones are glass or plastic...nice bright and clear colors though! They are so nice and smooth I don't dare poke with a pin. Any thoughts about maker, era/age, materials, etc??? Thanks for looking! All I know is it's an 80s piece. The cabs are probably glass. The maker is one of the group called Unknown. A lot of companies made similar pieces.

Oh darn, I sort of figured as much. I still really like it a lot for some reason. Thanks evelyb30!

It's very pretty -- a bit unusual. 15 1/2 inches is clearly choker length, so as far as date, if on the more recent end, maybe 1970's or 90's as one has to consider fashions. Wasn't it the 1970's chokers when were popular? (And then again w/goth in the 90's?) 80's plus or minus you could say.

I always like to hold an item for dating, but I'd have to guess newer as was already mentioned, but just going from photos. Cabochons are glued in, right?

If you want to confirm the cabs are glass, hold them to your cheek. They will be MUCH colder than plastic. Handy to have another piece of jewelry near by with either confirmed plastic or glass to compare with.

It looks like a nice, solid piece.

Very pretty necklace. The stones are not jelly belly, which are clear Lucite. Just for additional information, the necklace links style is referred to as tank tracks.

Thanks Charlotte; I also saw this style called panther link or chain; have you heard that one?

Thanks Lucille, I'm thinking they must be plastic based on the temperature test. But that makes me even more surprised that they are so smooth and unscratched. A couple of the cabs are set crooked. They are glued to metal or heavy foil backing and then glued in place.
