Pre Columbian pottery seal?

    I picked this up at an estate sale, it is a fairly light weight pottery and the back almost seems like a handle. Any ideas on the age / origin / purpose / who it depicts? It is 2.25" long.

    As to age, without specific provenience it is difficult to authenticate such items. Copies and recreations of precolumbian pottery objects have been made for well over a century.
