Hi, everyone! It's been a very long time since I've visited here but it's great to see some familiar names! Took me a bit but I managed to load my pics. This vase is 16" tall, 4 1/2" opening at the top, 4" diameter on the bottom. Absolutely no mark. Very hard ceramic. The gold is raised like enamel or moriage. I have to be honest, I don't even know where to start. Thanks for any and all assistance! Now that I've figured out how to navigate here, I may be around more!

    Nice to see you here.

    Nippon
    Enamel painted, not moriage.

Time period is right around the 1900s.

    Wait for other opinions

You should post some good pics of the handles. If anyone has a Nippon book, it will probably be helpful to be able to match the handle shape.

It looks Nippon to me, too. And it's a beauty.

DSCN0006.JPG DSCN0011.JPG Hello again, everyone! I got sidetracked with a bunch of things and then went on a weeks vacation. I'm home now and managed to take a couple photos of the handles on this vase! DSCN0006.JPG DSCN0011.JPG

    Definitely Japanese
    Hand painted enamel
    Early 1900s seems correct

1920's Japan would be my guess based on 2 similar vases I've had over the years that were IDed as such. Same bottom. Same height.

Thank you all so much! Nippon, enamel, early 1900's. Yay!

Just to be clear. A lot of people associate Nippon with Noritake. From my understanding Nippon is the Japanese word for Japan. I'm fairly certain that this is not Noritake based on my having these type of vases before. Of course I may be wrong as I am not an expert.

Unless I have evidence supporting an attribution, I don't claim anything in my listings. This is unmarked and will be listed as such with a presumptive "Nippon" attribution. As far as I'm concerned, unless a piece is marked Noritake or Morimura, it ain't!
