Potties: New or old vase?

My gut is telling me this is newly made (too shiny & the bottom), but want to make sure before doing something with it--"when in doubt, don't".

Any opinions out there? Measures about 10" tall x 8" wide, need to recheck if that is vital information.

 

I do think newer. That bottom with that clay color makes me think Japanese.
