potties. help with this Bowl with silver plate mount lid

    Has anyone seen this type of bowl before.
    Bowl is 5" diameter. Hard to explain what the finish is.
    There is crazing so thought it was an older piece. small red numbers might be a clue as to who and where it was made.
    Ill polish it if need be.

    It's unmarked as far as I can tell. Thinking plate.

    It's a biscuit jar, isn't it? Taylor Tunnicliffe did a lot of sand textured stuff, but I imagine others did, too.

    Looks more like silver than plate?

    Biscuits can be small. Little amaretti ones for example. Might also be sugar cubes.

    Certainly Staffordshire made, Taylor Tunnicliffe is a definite possibility.

    Late 19th ish, number will be a pattern number.

    Silverplate. The handle is showing some underlying brass on the right side in the second from last photo.

    Yes it is silver plate. No marks.
