Can someone tell me who this signature is?

    I suspect (but don't know for sure) that this "signature" is in an Asian script and should be read in an up and down orientation, rather than side to side. Which way is up, I don't know.

    It's always a good idea to post pictures of the whole item as well as the markings.

    whenever these pieces have that yellowish /white glaze,I always think recent.

    Hi Cindy, If you can, you should get a sharp focused picture of the mark. There are people who pop in from time to time who can read it.

    I don't have personal knowledge about the mark or type of porcelain, but I did find some good keywords that might help you find the maker's mark eventually.

    I started searching with the key words reticulated porcelain which soon led me to hone it down to the Japanese word Sukashi (which means "open work").

    Sukashi plus keywords Imari and/or Arita pull up a lot of similar items in Google web and image searches.

    Sukashi Imari
    Japanese Reticulated Porcelain
    Japanese Reticulated Porcelain Vase
    Japanese Porcelain "Open Work"
    Japanese Porcelain Marks - Gotheborg.com

    Still kind of fuzzy but almost looks Arabic, of course I do need better glasses:shame:
