Pottery is not my thing is this worth keeping?

pottery is not what i collect but my neighbor was gonna throw these out.. crazy. May not be alot but love the color of the plum vase.. Not sure what to think about the tea pot

 

Neither have much value. The first since newer and common. The second due to condition. Not sure what it is, but looks interesting.

 

I agree with verybrad. The tea pot reminds me of the stoneware that was so popular back in the 1980's. McCoy did a similar version. Frankly, I'd donate it to Goodwill. The plum piece is interesting but too badly damaged.

The teapot is marked Taiwan. If it has no appeal for you, agree you should just give it to charity. If you like the other one, to my mind, that's enough reason to keep it. Think it would be hard to sell it.

 

You can find the teapot on ebay. It was either on a current listing or a completed one.
I always go there to see what I can find if I come home with items I don't know much about.

Tiffany, folks are just trying to give you some advice and pointers on how to make the forum work for you, if you give up you will lose a great learning opportunuty. nobody is out to hurt you ... Joy.

Oh, don't leave. Most of us are looking for new blood, not fresh meat. The board moves so slowly that having something new to look at is a treat.

 

Don't fall at the first hurdle on this forum, I was insulted multiple times when I first joined but I just blocked the haters and carried on regardless. There are far more nice members than nasty. I, for one, will always read your posts with interest and without negative judgement.

Both items you posted photos of are worth something to someone. One person's trash is another person's treasure. Keep them if you like them and sell them if you don't. Even if you ended up with $10-20 it is still $10-20 you can invest in another item. Precisely how a number of us started in fact.

 

No need for that. I haven't posted anything that isn't true and neither have I been defammatory to any identifiable individual or group.

I happen to like this forum (not the haters) as it has some very interesting posts and well meaning members.

My own forum (as you brought it up) can sit idle or be used... it really doesn't phase me as it costs me nothing to keep.

I find your retort to my post both offensive and aggressive. Completely unnecessary. I am just thankful that there are other members on this forum who have a little more patience and self control.

The discussion seems to be deteriorating. I suppose you're right, komokwa. I will now exit stage left and see what other questions are out there. I do love this forum and all the folks I have contact with.
