Pottery Elephant Coin Bank

Hi,
Trying to id this mini pottery elephant coin bank. 2"H x 3"L, no marks.
Any ideas or information appreciated.

 

My first guess...LuRay but not at all sure. USA pottery maybe...

Is it a coin bank or an Aladdin lamp?

 

You know.... I completely ignored the slot and went for maker and so I don't think it's a bank.

 

I though coin bank because of the slot but maybe some kind of lamp. I'm not sure how this would work for a lamp, I'll have to see what I can find.

@moreotherstuff What did you mean by Aladdin lamp? I've been searching but not seeing anything, could be using the wrong keys words.

 

If you look at aladdin lamps, they share that same extended spout, it's just that the body on your has an elephant shape. It may not be a lamp. Seems small for either a lamp or a bank.

First impressions don't count for much, but mine is that this is a modern novelty and probably Chinese.

 

Thanks more. The photos don't show it but the trunk on the elephant has no opening in it. Could remain a mystery.

Earlier post and subsequent took their sweet time showing up.

If the trunk isn't open, then it's not a lamp.
