R U sure it isn't brass? The caked-on white oxide does look like what we often see on pot metal, however look at the letters stamped or rolled into the inside surface? They would probably not have gotten there if the piece had been made in its present final shape before marking it with those letters. The item was manufactured as a flat item (probably by a stamping press) and either simultaneously or subsequently marked with letters "PN" (probably a manufacturer's initials) then bent in the final box-end shape. Brass can be bent like that; pot metal (largely zinc) lacks the ductility to allow it to be bent like that without breaking. Just kinda wondering here, I don't really know.

It's a little heavier than pure zinc. I was thinking mixed with lead.

I don't think those two metals like each other. I've tried to use the same projectile mold to cast lead then zinc projectiles and if there's the slightest trace of the other metal on the mold after switching metals, the casting is usually quite misshapen. But I'm not sure, maybe some kinda flux will let 'em mix?

Have u completely eliminated brass? All the others seem to be brass.

    Tin helps them bind

I guess the zinc could be leaching from brass. I don't really want to gouge it to see if there's yellow underneath.
