It may be a kitchen tool to remove the top of a boiled egg when eating from an egg cup.

Or perhaps to hold vegetables while slicing? Can see using it to hold a cucumber while being sliced thin for cucumber sandwiches.

    Welcome!

That sounds plausible. Thank you Sandra and Bronwen. It has a similar patina to a pair of silver plated salt shakers my grandmother passed down to me. Maybe that’s the metal?

    Hi,
Sandra is right. It is to open the boiled egg top.

I don't even want to think about a medical use for that thing!

LOL because I wondered if it could be something used on a farm, such as to hold a lamb's tail while it was being docked. Instead it's an iron maiden for boiled eggs. Whew!

    Hi,
i remember a few years back that one came up for ID. The guys went wild as well as the girls on what to use it for. It was a hoot. The thing the best was a Mrs Bobbit holder for slicing off her husbands member.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
