Possible native bag - maybe Navajo?

    My mother got this somewhere out west in 1968 or so; maybe as late as 1971. She thinks may be Navajo. Some of the stitching is machine but the liner is hand stitched. It looks like real leather.

    It doesn't look like Navajo beadwork to me, but I am a "casual expert" and not a real one. It could have been made for the tourist trade.

    In any case it's beautiful and it has a family story behind it, but I'd love to establish some sort of provenance.

    late hippy dippy, imo..... I do not recognize the design...as being from any one 1st Nations..

    Not traditional enough in style or beadwork to attribute to any particular group. It also looks recent enough that if it was Native American made, it would have been labeled as such, because it would be a selling point.
