It's from Seven Falls, Colorado (I think).
    Leather - two leaves inside.

I think those rivets are no earlier than the '40s.

Messi, found a couple of other pig pen wipes. They are not of Seven Falls and do not have the rivets. In other words they are not identical to yours. The sellers date one to 1908 and the other c1920. I would have dated yours to pre WWII, but I'm not up on dating rivets.

    The back has "'08"

The seller of this one is speculating the 1920s with this statement: "Circa 1920s kept in the envelope and used as a bookmark in a book from that era."

Terry, the "rivets" are really more like staples with round heads.
The backs only have two prongs that are pressed apart.

Susan, Thanks for finding those - I sure couldn't. :)
The second is more like mine. I guess if I say "early 1900s I would be somewhat safe.

I found another with advertising which would date it to 1900-1910. It too had no rivets. It looks like your rivets were a later addition.

I think you are correct, Terry. Far more likely it is 1920s or later.

    LOLOL!

    You really think so?
hmmm Now I have no idea.

No - wait! What would have kept it together then?
I don't see any marks that show it had been stitched first?

The several other seen look like they likely had a thin line of glue to hold them together

I've passed on dozens of pen brushes that were cheap

I had no idea they would sell well on ebay

hmmm I guess I will just wing it, and list it as early 1900s like I said before. :)

I shudder to think at the *stuff* I have passed up because I didn't know any better.
