It is a copy of a famous self portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci.

The painting is glued to a new base. Therefore, can not see the back of the canvas.

 

In that case you'll have to make do with my guess. I'd think 19th century, but maybe others have another opinion..

 

I know almost nothing about paintings, and have become very reluctant to even offer an opinion on "old" paintings since I discovered that there are dozens if not hundreds of companies offering hand-painted and "signed" "replica oil paintings." They'll even provide them with, or without, "craquelure," the little cracks that indicate age in a real painting.
I'm sure an expert can easily tell if a painting is an old copy, or modern factory "replica oil painting."
But I'm not an expert, so I don't even trust my own opinion, mostly.
