IMG_4823.JPG IMG_4824.JPG IMG_4825.JPG Can't find anything on the artist and I suspect not very well trained one but I wonder if the image is after famous painting maybe?

I don't think it's a bad painting. It looks commercial quality to me. The artist was confident in laying down the color. Has a mid-century look to me. Very illustrative.

Could be a souvenir from someone's trip. Again, that is not a proper canvas stretcher. The canvas was stretched over a frame after the fact. Painting and selling it as a loose canvas might support the souvenir idea.

Thanks for the replies. Souvenir from what country, Italy?
What era is the girl supposed to represent?

It could be a copy of a Renaissance portrait. "Barrado" is a Spanish-language surname.

This picture just looked familiar to me. I figured based on a Renaissance painting, but I couldn't put a finger on it. Then, today, I was thinking about it and the name Filippo Lippi just popped into my head, and sure enough:

Madonna and Child (aka Morning Madonna) 1460-65. It's in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

    More a re-interpretation than a copy.
