Portable Lamps Candleholders? What do We Call These?

    Like old carriage lamps. Each has a chimney. Item measure 5-1/2” tall and about 2” diameter in widest spot. With chimney is just under a foot long. Marked “The Safety Co New York”

    What are these called? Were they used underground for making the subway? (Just a guess). TIA for your help!

    Would the darker coloured one hold a candle? is there a spring in the bottom? If yes I think from railway..if not..then I have no idea

    Yes spring & candle. Some have a spot for a wick tho. Used at different spots on train and mobile for walking in the dark?

    What are they called?
