This little guy is as cute as he can be & looks fairly well made. There is a mark but it is only partially readable. I think there is a crown at the bottom & I see the words hand painted, but otherwise I am clueless. He is 4 3/4" to the top of his head & is 7" long.

I know I can list him as just a dog figurine, but I thought I would fly it past the board to see if anyone recognized the mark.

Thanks for any & all advice or opinions!!:kiss:

Hi Peggy - can't help much but I'm leaning towards Made in Japan bone china. Some of the Japanese bone china is very nice (like your doggie) but there's so much around it's undervalued (IMHO)!:)

So often one sees Spaniels (or terriers) which are not done well enough to tell Which breed they are. Yours is an honest to goodness cocker spaniel!

Even the 'show dog' stance is correct. :)

I think this piece will be listed in the dog category in the end with hopes that a Parti Cocker Spaniel owner will see it & just have to have it because it reminds them of their little snookums.:smuggrin:

I agree Silver!! I think that is what drew me to this piece. I knew immediately what breed this piece represented.

    Google Ardalt spaniel figurine.

Well it certainly looks like this little guy but I have never seen a crown mark for Ardalt. I'll have to do some poking around.

    Thanks Janet!!
