The paper has Kodak watermarks on the back but I can't capture them on the photos. Any idea how was the print created? Like was it photo collage or maybe hand drawn? Looks kind of Warhol influenced to me.
How do you read the siggy?
    Thanks

I'd say collage. I don't see any pieces that look hand-drawn. The closeup of the hand holding the beer can illustrate how the image was cut out of a separate photo print and then placed on the street scene "background" print. And the mountains really are that close to downtown Skagway, although it's possible that the specific view may have also been "pieced and placed" to some extent.

Thanks for the reply. If collage, wonder if some kind of additional coloring was made before printing.

I guess the name is Jeff Brown. Done as a collage and then re-photographed to eliminate textures? It's a cool picture. That would take some effort even digitally.

Coloring the edges of the cut-outs might make them less obvious.

The street scene does have the "pastel" look of a hand-tinted photo.

If this were more recent, I'd say digital photo editing was done. But with the 1986 date, my DH thinks it was done by taking multiple negatives, blocking out the unwanted sections of each (called matting), and then printing from the various negatives onto the same sheet of photo paper.

He has extensive experience with film, and said this is how special effects have been done in film.

I don't know if there's a special name for the technique.

That's an interesting thought, Pat. Sounds much more difficult to do well than the "cut and place" idea I had.

    Yup, not an easy process.

Made another attempt to ID the artist. Found a SF photographer by the name of Jeff Brouws but cannot find a signature of him to compare with.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I was thinking the sig may be Jeff Blom ... but am not having luck with that, either.
