Obviously it’s in poor condition (and a great pity about the paint) Looks to have been veneer originally. Could this be 19th century? Or maybe early 20th century?

Probably not worthwhile to try and restore it? What do you think? I understand veneer items can be difficult to restore (and to match the missing veneer)

Should I strip the grey paint anyway? Or just repaint as shabby-chic? It stands 58cm high and the top is 57cm across.
    Thank you for any comments

I like the form.... has a bit of a biedermeier look to it, though I don't think quite that old. If mine, I might take a swipe at the top with stripper to see what you have there. If good, might be worth stripping. If not, you can always paint. I only see some small missing veneer at the base. Any other places?

Around the edge of the top too.
It is a sweet table though, worth sprucing it up.

Sounds like good advice. Thank you for the comment and info. Yes,as AJ noted there’s some veneer loss at the top too. I will remove some paint and see. Thanks again

Not much to lose; I can't see anythig the poor table did to earn that gray paint. It looks like prison gray.

Even the engine shop gray my grandfather used on things wasn't that ugly. (he repaired locomotives for a living had access. )
