Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    Hi all,
I or rather my husband has a bunch of old pins that came in an old suitcase, that came out of one of the old houses my mother bought....we'd clean them out, save what we could, then she'd sell the property....a whole bunch of fun and hard work. I've sorted the pins as best I could.....posting for your perusal and thoughts as to whether any have any collect-ability and/or value? Thanks!!!!!

There is a Pershing museum which may be interested in that one.

Aquitaine, I especially like the "Dewey" red elephant pin/button at the bottom right in the "PB9.jpg" photos.

I also like the "Audubon" buttons along the top row in the "PB3.jpg" photos.

Quite a collection of miscellaneous buttons there . I noticed the William Bendix button and it brought fond memories of how funny "The Life of Riley" was way back then (especially when "Waldo" made an appearance).

Oh good! Hope that works out with them!
Any clue what the anchor pin is for?

Go to your local library and request a book on political buttons. I think that you may have some of value.

Do your homework before attempting to sell.

Watched the YouTube video on Pershing....did you know he was one of only TWO 6 Star Generals in the U.S.?????? George Washington being the other! WOW!!! History was NOT my subject.....so later in life I married a history teacher!!!! He knows it all......or a lot of it!!!!! :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: And THANKS ALL for checking these out.....I WILL do some research now! They are my husband's pins, so it's totally up to him what he wants to do with them!!!!

Could be. Nothing on its back then?
I just saw one of those 'collectible' spoons with a dangly RI flag which but I think the anchor was somewhat different.

You have a number of them which look like late sixties fakes. There was a lot of them coming out then. Part of the reason for the Hobby Protection Act.

They need to be looked at individually.

The closest RI symbol I've found with the use of a shield has a fouled anchor on it.

Nice cache of buttons! I' m sure there are a coupla goodies there though, as Terry points out, a coupla fakes too.
The "Chocolates" mirror is a killer too...if it's right.

I'd check the back rims for gas station logos; they made repros and "cinderella" buttons and gave them out with a fill-up at one point. Some of them look awfully good.
