At first I thought 1930's because of the roll over clasp but I started to question that because of its size. It is 4 1/4" wide and 2 1/4" tall. That seems very large for a 1930's piece. It is very lightweight and has a coppery color finish. Also, its it repousse or just a stamped/pressed metal piece? The two background leaves are soldered together. As always I appreciate any input/opinions/advice. Hope you are all having a good weekend.

1920s, looks like, or maybe a little earlier.

Thank you @evelyb30 I was leaning toward 1920's but was only guessing because it seemed too large for the 30's. Would you consider this repousse?

It looks like all soldered bits that were molded the way they are. Repousse implies hand work on the detailing.

Looks like there are casting bubbles on both sides of the leaf.

@evelyb30 Thank you again. I knew the definition of repousse but not having handled a piece, I wasn't sure what to look for. So basically it's the work from the back that goes into the detailing?

@Hollyblue would you mind explaining what you mean by "casting bubbles"? Would that mean melted metal is poured into a mold?

Thanks to you both for furthering my education.

Casting investment is poured over the wax pattern in a metal flask. If the water/investment ratio is off when mixing the investment it causes air bubbles,if a debubblerizer isn't used on the wax pattern air bubbles form on the pattern. The molten metal is poured into a hot flask which the wax has been burned out and fills the area where the bubbles were stuck to the wax pattern.

Thank you @Hollyblue for the explanation. The brooch is definitely metal and actually has the weight of tin but is a coppery gold color. I appreciate your input though.
