Please help with a pair of wood wall shelves.

    I don't know anything about these so any information would be helpful. Type of Wood? Hand carved? Age? American? 9 3/4" tall, 12" wide on top and the carved base area is 4 1/2" wide. Thank you.

    those look like more indonesian carvings.....made yesterday.

    Could be Indonesian, I thought some Pacific Island type of wood, I should have said the wood isn't very heavy. Not made yesterday, maybe 60's or 70's? These were hanging in their home for a few decades that I know of.

    well...ok....so maybe a little older that i give it credit for.....
    i'll bet if you scratch that stain it's light blond underneath.....Albesia wood !

    I'll check it out in the daylight tomorrow. There must be a scratch somewhere I can look at with the magnifier on my phone. It doesn't show up in artificial light.

    just unscrew the hanger....likely not stained under there....
    i think i see a cream color, peeking out in the close up !

    Agree re Southeast Asia import. And new-ish. The pattern looks 1980s. Wouldn't go beyond there.
