Hi, I am new here so pls. bear with me.
We got this tea pot from a flea market in Germany, I really liked the shape. Googling it it seems an older English tea pot, probably no sterling silver as I didn't find any hall mark.
There is a stamp at the bottom, with B.M.E., J.&C? (an "a" and two lines under it), and a 8 or 8 under it.
There are as well two engravings (Kuhn, JL??) at the bottom, both very similar but not really readable.

I was wondering if someone can help me shed a little bit more light on it.

    Thanks in advance,

Probably a pewter alloy and possibly silver plated with a partly brass handle.

The first line of the mark looks like it ends in F not E

The second line of the marks on the bottom is J & Co. Possibly the retailer.

I don't see a picture of the other "engravings" you mention.

As you can see the black paint is worn off the handle. You might be able to stain in almost black or paint it. Or leave it as is . (Which I would probably do.

Thanks all. What I figured out is:
    BMF is Berndorfer..
    B. M. F is Berliner Metallwarenfabrik H. A. Jürst & Co. AG, so yes, it was manufactured in Berlin, Germany. The company folded in 1925 so it is 1925 or older. The company only silver plated and I don't know what is under it.
@Bakersgma On the sixth photo, when you zoom in, you see at the top a name scratched into the metal.

    Best regards, Joe

Now that you have pointed out the "engraving" you referred to, it's the kind of scratched in name that was done by an owner for their own purpose. Nothing to do with a the maker or retailer.

Whatever is "under" the plating is an irrelevant base metal. Certainly isn't precious metal or any kind.
