Can anyone help identify this platter, it's age and whether it is Chinese or Japanese? When I first picked it up I thought Chinese but now wondering...The rim edge is brown, though not able to capture it very well. Thanks for any input! IMG_2230.JPG IMG_2231.JPG

That blue looks Japanese to me, but I don't know the style. Japanese porcelain is not my forte.

So far, opinion seems to lean toward Japanese... Is anyone able read the characters? Appreciate all your help!

I found some info on this platter and your inkling was correct that it is Japanese - described as Arita ware & supposedly, c 1970. From what I understand these pieces were made for export.
